How I get out on time (Tick tock) with kids

I’m well-known for rushing out the house.  I'm a pro on fighting against obstacle that might come up when trying to get out the house on time with the kids
I have three boys and now a baby girl!  I’ve been a working mother for over 11 years. My oldest son will be 12 in August, so I was the queen of rushing out the house, to get to work on time. But then BANG!!!  I was hit with a newborn baby. That’s where the tricky situation began all over again.

So here are some of my helpful tips on getting out on time;
(Before)
-Have your kids bathe at night time.

-Make sure they have their uniforms/ clothes ready from socks to sweater ready to go the night before.

- (Mom) Get your outfit together (including; shoes, accessories and jewelry).

-Also make sure they have their backpacks with all their supplies (books, homework, pencils, lunch money and ECT).

- (Mom) have your purse ready too, wallet, KEYS, inside the purse. You have no idea how many times I was late because I forgot where my keys were at.

- Now for the baby; make sure you have diapers, wipes, formula, extra clothes, an extra hat, socks, pack in the baby bag the night before. Don’t forget her baby toys we need her distracted in the car ride and we want her to have some familiar toys at daycare.

-Since my daughter is on formula.  I make sure formula is in the bag, and all bottle are clean with amount of water measure to just pour in formula.

- Then plan out your morning and make time for everything. If you have to take out the trash, or want to do your hair, feed the baby or even watch the last 10 minutes of the show you didn’t finish and had to DVR it.  Just give yourself the appropriate amount of time for each thing.

-and THEN give yourself a couple extra minutes in the day because with kids, something always happens.

(During)
-Remember set your alarm! If it’s hard for you to wake up with your alarm, set it earlier, snooze then get up on your second alarm which should be set to the time you really need to get up.

- For (Breakfast) I make smoothies the night before and put them in a mason jar. Make something fulfilling for you and the kids or make two jars one for you and another for the kids.  Then in the morning just pour breakfast ;). (Ideas- milk, yogurt, and fruit *remember quick and easy). There is also Leggos, morning hot pockets or pop tarts to pop in the microwave or toaster.

I also have an automatic coffee brewer. I have it set for 5 in morning so when I get up I have fresh coffee ready for me. It makes my morning so much better. (You’ll understand if you’re a coffee drinker).

It may seem a lot at first. But then it’ll become a routine and it would feel much
easier. Once I started organizing myself and actually doing it my morning felt nicer. I even had time to have relaxing conversation with the boys. I then added 5-10 extra minutes to my morning schedule to play with the baby for a while.

Tuesday Day Date

So on Tuesday, I had to take the day off from work because I didn’t have a babysitter. Bummer! But then again I figure, I get to enjoy more time with my little girl. Oh yeah! I have a daughter! Divany Anabella Mendoza was born on August 7, 2013. Sorry, but I have not blogged since I meet my now fiancĂ©, which is a good thing because that only means I’ve been enjoying life. The future hubby noticed that I have stopped blogging and encouraged me to start again. He knows how much I enjoyed sharing pictures and talking about all kind of stuff…. So I’m here again J Okay okay now back to the blog….  So after requesting the day off and getting approved, my fiance was given the same day off. So we decided to go out on a nice morning date with the baby. We ended up at San Pedro pier.

The day started off kind of cold but gradually got warmer. So we ate on the outside area. Bad idea, the wind blew my spoons and napkins everywhere. So we moved a little bit closer inside by that time my food was a bit cold. Can’t complain it was still delicious. The food was a little pricey but fresh. First you have to wait in line to order the seafood by the pound and then take it over to another place to have them cook it. We got 2 pounds of shrimp with potatoes and veggies which came up to a total of $62.00 (that was not including drinks which were $6 each).  But it was definitely worth it. We had leftovers for dinner, which we didn’t eat… yet. After our delicious lunch we took a stroll with the baby down the pier. Most of the shops they had there were closed I guess that place is more of a weekend thing.  We didn’t mind because it became a nice quiet stroll. We’re planning to go back on a weekend. Maybe next time we would like to take more of the family with us.

Had a great 4th of July with Family and Friends.

After family time and good food we went to the park for the firework show. Overall a nice community event.

Grateful

Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.

Well, I been trying to do everything I need to do and make it a routine. I’m trying to wake up early and make it to work on time, go to school, do homework, read, study, and be a mom. I also have my son’s that go to school. I have to make sure there homework is done and correct. I need to make sure they understand why it is wrong or right.

I’m grateful for my friends that have stuck around even though I have not really been involved or been such a good friend. (Since School)

I’m grateful for my parents helping me taking care of my kids while I’m at school. Treating them like their own kids. Actually, even better than they treated us…lol but that’s okay.

I’m grateful for having such a great job that gives me the opportunity to go to school. Well, I do it after work hours but sometimes I have to leave earlier I get no complaints about that. I sometimes need 30 extra minutes for lunch to finish some reading or some homework as well.

I’m grateful for having such great co-workers that helped me out with studying or understanding a question I’m stuck on. I’m grateful for their encouragement o’ and breakfast that Helena brings in.

I’m also grateful for my brothers that help my son’s with their homework when I’m not around.

So last night I had a dream, one of those dreams that are so weird but seem so real. Well, I dreamed about the father of my kids. Our relationship had ended about 3 years ago. I wonder all the times why I still have dreams about him. Of course he was involved in my life for 5 years before we split. We had a great relationship in the start, but it escalated to a harsh and complicated relationship that we decided the best was to call it quits. After legal difficulties I lost communication with him and decide to keep it that way. I’m no longer interested in involving myself with him again. I have accomplished so many goals since he has been out of my life. I have become a better person. However, I still have him in my dreams, some random thoughts with out the need for them WHY? WHY? WHY?

Sometimes I wonder if destiny is saying you should have worked it out. But maybe it’s saying this is the way it supposed to be. I’m accomplishing so much, I’m driving now, I’m going to school, and I’m more involved with my family and friends than before. But what if god gave me my soul mate and we were supposed to work it out and we didn’t even truly try?

Ice Cream

Ice cream

on a hot summer day with my family is the best.

As I’m getting older I’m learning to treasure all the joyful moments I have with my family.

Like I said I love them more than I ever tell them.
